Abstract
Ethyl apovincaminate (vinpocetine) treatment has been used in various sensorineural impairments of hearing as well as in ear diseases associated with vertigo. As shown by
experiences, presbyacusis, vascular impairment of hearing and in certain cases toxic hypacusia are improved by
Vinpocetine. Besides audiometric improvement of pure tone, significant improvement was noted in the speech-audiogram in all three groups of disease. Certain affections of the ear accompanied by vertigo responded to
vinpocetine. In Meniere's disease it has proved to be superior to the vasodilators used up to now.
